Birthday and debut backdrop tarpaulin: sizes, layout and what to include

The backdrop is where every guest takes a photo, so it is worth getting right. Here is a quick guide for birthday and debut backdrops.

Backdrop sizes

• 4x6 ft — fits a small home party or a dessert table. Our backdrop tarp starts at ₱450 at this size.
• 5x8 ft — enough for the celebrant plus two or three guests in one photo.
• 6x8 ft — the usual choice for debuts and venue parties, so a whole group fits.

Measure the wall or stage first. Leave space for balloons and flowers around the tarp.

What to put on it

• The celebrant's name — big and readable from across the room.
• The age or milestone ("18", "Happy 7th Birthday").
• The theme colours and a few design elements, not too many — the guests should stand out in photos, not the background.
• Optional: the date and a hashtag for social media.

Keep the lower third of the design simple. That part is usually covered by people standing in front of it.

Layout and proof

Layout is included for our standard templates. For a custom design, send your theme, photos and text and we will send a proof for approval before printing.

Add-ons

You can add a tarp stand frame or a name cut-out to make the backdrop stand out.

When to order

Backdrop tarps are usually ready in 1 working day once the layout is approved and paid. During graduation, Christmas and wedding season, order at least a few days early.
